Bodo Ramelow, leading a German delegation, visited Da Nang, Vietnam, to explore ways to enhance cooperation with the city across multiple sectors. This visit aimed to review and expand the existing socio-economic collaborations between Da Nang and German partners, focusing on areas such as education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.
During discussions with Da Nang authorities, both parties expressed a keen interest in strengthening partnerships, particularly in human resource development, vocational education, and German language instruction. The city of Da Nang is eager to see an increase in German investment in high-tech industries, semiconductor manufacturing, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.
Ramelow pointed out vocational education as a highly promising field for collaboration, suggesting the creation of joint training programs that would provide graduates with qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. He also emphasized the importance of reinforcing business connections and exploring new avenues for investment.
Germany has established itself as one of Da Nang’s significant European partners, with a broad cooperation spectrum that includes trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchanges. The recent meetings serve to reaffirm the commitment of both parties to further expand their economic and institutional relationships.
The visit underscored the mutual interest in fostering deeper ties, with a focus on integrating German expertise into Vietnam’s development goals. As both sides continue to build on their partnership, the prospect of joint ventures in education and technology sectors holds potential for transformative growth in Da Nang.
