Actxa Launches Spark Band at IFA 2026 for Glucose Monitoring

by admin477351

In a significant move at IFA Berlin 2026, Singapore-based Actxa has launched the Spark Band, a screenless wearable that integrates advanced health monitoring features. This innovative wristband combines sleep, recovery, heart health, activity, and fitness tracking with Actxa’s proprietary non-invasive glucose awareness technology. Utilizing BGEM technology, the device can provide users with an AI Glucose Snapshot, offering an estimated glucose range and indicative value in about one minute. Actxa emphasizes that this feature is meant for general wellness rather than medical diagnosis or treatment, encouraging users to observe glucose trends alongside other health and lifestyle data.

The Spark Band’s health and fitness tracking capabilities extend through the Actxa app, which monitors various daily health indicators. It provides insights into sleep patterns, including sleep stages and scores, along with recovery functions that compare sleep heart rate variability (HRV) against a personal baseline over seven days. Users can also track activity metrics such as movement, Intensity Minutes, workout data, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age. A notable feature is the Target Heart Rate Zone, which uses LED and vibration alerts to notify users when they enter their desired training zone without needing a screen.

Designed to minimize notifications and visual interruptions, the Spark Band relies on LED and vibration signals for functions such as movement reminders and wake-up alarms. The device is lightweight, weighing approximately 22 grams, and features a zinc-alloy casing with a soft nylon braided strap. It boasts up to 14 days of battery life and can be fully charged in about 90 minutes. The band has an IP68 rating, suitable for everyday water exposure, and can store up to seven days of data before syncing with the Actxa app. It connects via Bluetooth Low Energy and is compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.6 or later, with no subscription fees required.

Pre-orders for the Spark Band are set to begin on September 24, 2026, priced at SGD 199 or USD 149, with the official launch scheduled for November 18, 2026. The band will be available in select markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa is offering promotional discounts during the pre-order period, including a 40% early-bird offer from September 24 to October 31, a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a 10% launch offer following its official release.

Founded in 2015, Actxa Pte Ltd specializes in developing wearable technology and proprietary systems for personal health and wellness tracking. Their BGEM technology, which powers the AI Glucose Snapshot, is designed for general wellness applications. The company stresses that the Spark Band’s glucose awareness function is not intended for diagnosing or managing medical conditions such as diabetes. Users should be aware that battery performance and water resistance may vary over time and with use.
